The Splint Fabrication Manual was created by the HSS Hand Therapy Center. This manual is a compilation of education modules from our 12-week splinting workshop series, Smart Design: The Art of Splinting.

The Splint Fabrication Manual is divided into four sections:

  1. Finger Splints
  2. Hand Based Splints
  3. Forearm Based Splints
  4. Elbow Splints

This manual will provide you with step-by-step instructions for fabrication over 20 different splints. Splint patterns for each splint, as well as a list of materials, diagnoses and helpful hints, are included for every set of instructions. The HSS Hand Therapy Center staff believes that splinting is an art and that practice makes perfect. The Splint Fabrication Manual can help you get started or fine tune your splinting.
