Dr. Enrique A. Goytizolo is a board-certified anesthesiologist who specializes in regional anesthesia and acute postoperative pain management.
Dr. Goytizolo graduated from the Regional Anesthesia Fellowship Program at Hospital for Special Surgery in 1998. Following completion of his Fellowship, Dr Goytizolo spent 6 years at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, where he helped to develop a regional anesthesia program. In 2004, Dr. Goytizolo was recruited back to Hospital for Special Surgery.
Dr. Goytizolo’s main interest is peripheral nerve catheters and the impact of anesthesia on rehabilitation for orthopedic surgery.
A member of the Department’s Education Committee, Dr. Goytizolo is involved in coordinating and establishing guidelines for our Regional Anesthesia Fellows and rotating residents, among other academic initiatives. Dr. Goytizolo also oversees the Department’s Academic Observership Program, a program in which anesthesiologists from all over the world come to HSS to observe our advanced regional anesthetic techniques.
Dr. Goytizolo has given presentations at numerous international meetings and programs, lecturing on varied regional anesthesia topics.
