Vasculitis of Childhood

 

Kawasaki Disease is an acute vascular disorder involving inflammation of one or more blood vessels that typically affects young children. Symptoms may include fever that is unresponsive to Tylenol or aspirin and continues for 7-10 days, swollen area on the neck, inflamed eyes (conjunctivitis), dry / cracked lips, or other changes of the mouth and tongue. The most common treatment for the disease is intravenous gammaglobulin.
